Abstract

The theoretical and methodological foundations of the method of historical material application as a mean of motivation formation while Chemistry studying at high school: approaches (integrative, systematic, historical and logical), the leading ideas (of motivation, humanism, education modernization) and principles (of integration and historicism, which educate and develop learning process) are determined in the article. It is noted that in the methods of teaching the basic ways of historical material incorporation in the learning process are: chronological, biographical and problematic. It is shown that the historical approach of learning assists the implementation of a number of functions. The most important are: integrative, humanistic, educational, stimulating, self-educational, and cognitive activity.
