Abstract: We present the solution of the problem of process zone which develops under the condition of plain deformation from the tip of an interface crack that coincides with the corner point of the interface of two different materials. The process zone is modeled by the line of discontinuity of tangential displacements on the interface and by the lateral line of discontinuity of the normal displacements. The equation for finding the lengths of both discontinuity lines and the expression for the crack opening displacement are obtained. We study the influence of plasticity of plasticity of the material of the joint on the direction and conditions of crack start.
