Abstract: Analyzed possibilities using planning technologies in the study of the fundamentals of geometry in the pedagogical university. Methods of analysis, synthesis and comparison of planning technology used in high school. Emphasized the experience using planning technology in high school, given their common characteristics. The application of project technology in the conditions of credit-modular system of learning allows to solve a number of problems: to intensify independent activities of students to form a communicative competence, to form a creative competence as part of the communication, to develop the ability to use research methods, to increase knowledge and self-actualization, self-realization of students. We consider the relevance of planning technology implementation and their features, such as: the requirements for their use, the sequence of activities between a teacher and a student in the implementation of the planning technology learning. Defined their role in the training of teachers of mathematics while learning the fundamentals of geometry. It is noted that the planning technology requires students to apply new knowledge, develops the ability to act and make decisions independently, develops critical thinking and the desire for creativity and self-development. It is shown that planning is an effective learning technology that makes conscious students on their activities and provides professional development. The purpose of the article is to reveal the peculiarities of professional competence formation of future teachers of mathematics in the process of learning the basics of geometry using the project technology. Project method is an effective complement to other pedagogical technologies, contributing to the formation of personality as a subject of activity and social relations, as the education should become innovative. Future math teachers learn to choose the appropriate material, to structure it and tell others, to defend their opinions, to argue and evaluate each other in the preparation and presentation of the project. It is expected to carry out further study of other educational technology’s influence to develop professional skills of future teachers of mathematics.
