dc.description.abstract The article presents a technique for determining the mutual displacement of the edges of a normal crack. The hypothesis of linear change in the nominal section height is accepted. This height varies from the minimum at the location of the normal crack to the full height. The line for changing the section height is inclined at an angle to the horizontal. Thus, a member with two normal cracks is replaced by a member with a stepwise change in stiffness. The calculation method allows determining the displacements in the crack without using cumbersome calculations. The method has sufficient accuracy for engineering calculations. uk_UA
