Abstract. The psychological and pedagogical characteristic of efficiency of administrative activity by institution of preschool education is carried out. It was found that the modern head of preschool education carries out management activities on the basis of the science of management, which requires modern training of a new head capable of effective management based on experience and modern achievements of psychological and pedagogical theory and practice, which is managerial competence.
