The phenomenon of self-isolation of the Qing Empire in the second half of the ХVІІІ - early XIX century.

Abstract

У статті досліджено обставини, за яких імперія Цін почала проводити політику ізоляції від зовнішнього світу. Адже маньчжурська династія Цин, яка захопила Китай, запровадила політику самоізоляції як єдиний спосіб захисту своєї країни від колоніальних загарбань. Правляча династія в Пекіні намагалася змусити населення повірити в перебільшене уявлення про свою могутність. Визначено, які внутрішні чинники спричинили запровадження політики самоізоляції, а саме побоювання протестів проти маньчжурської династії Цин, які можуть бути використані західними країнами для завоювання держави.

The article is investigated the circumstances under which the Qing Empire began to pursue a policy of isolation from the outside world. After all, the Manchu Qing dynasty, which taking over China, introduced a policy of self-isolation as the only way to protect their country from colonial conquests. The ruling dynasty in Peking tried to make their population believe in an exaggerated view of its power. It is determined what internal factors caused the introduction of self-isolation policy, namely the fear of protests against the Manchu Qing dynasty, which could be used by Western countries to conquer the state.
