Abstract: The analysis of the methods and technologies of professional selfdetermination of students in the US education system has been identified. It has been found that the theory and practice of preparing students for professional self-determination has accumulated some positive experience in the development and use of activating career guidance methods and the formation and adaptation of career guidance programs with elements of activation of high school students. Also, the article presents the analysis of basic career guidance methods and technologies in the American high school.
