Abstract: Abstract. The article discusses one of the most relevant problems, i.e., preserving and strengthening children’s health, especially in primary school. The author assumes that the implementation of the New Ukrainian School should undermine the system of limited understanding of this particular problem, established during the Soviet era and constrained by sanitary and hygienic norms. The proposed targeted programme called “Healthy Class”, which follows the principles of health-preserving technologies, demonstrates some positive dynamics. Surpassing the limited conception of pupils’ health preservation has allowed expanding the areas of work. In turn, this has led to active parental involvement and a wider range of health, including physical, psychological and social aspects, which are quite challenging to adapt to in conditions of reducing educational institutions and pupils transitioning from one school to another. A comparison of typical programmes for primary school highlights the need to create a schedule according to the complexity of subjects, as well as the requirement of allocating one day in the school week where lessons for 1st to 4th grade pupils would be easier to grasp.Experience convinces that the use of health-preserving technologies in the educational process enables students to adapt more successfully in the educational and social space, to reveal creative abilities, and for teachers to effectively prevent antisocial behavior, to more actively involve parents of schoolchildren in the work of strengthening and preserving the health of children
