LIMITS OF USING THE THEORY OF PLATES IN THE CALCULATION OF REINFORCED CONCRETE SLABS

Abstract

It is shown that for flat structures, which are subjected to large torques, the use of plate finite elements leads to errors. The displacements are determined quite accurately, and the torque values have large errors. The reasons for such a discrepancy and ways to eliminate errors are shown.
